EARTHWORKS

Surveying is the process by which measures certain dimensions that generally occurs on the surface. Surveying equipment, such as levels and theodolites, are used for accurate measurement of angular deviation, horizontal ,vertical and slope distances. With computerisation, electronic distance measurement (EDM),total station ,GPS surveying and laser scanning have supplemented (and to a large extent supplanted)the traditional optical instruments. This information is important to convert the data into a graphical representation of the Earth’s surface in the form of a map.
